Drafting does in fact work but as others have said you have to be close enough to the rig to escape the turbulence created by the rig, which means that if the rig has to stop real quick you're going to be in trouble. Sometimes if you have a row of rigs the turbulence hits a little further away from the last one so you can do it, or if you don't mind riding in between rigs you usually can do it pretty easily as the rig behind you will catch most of the turbulence from the one in front.
All of that said, I never do this because it's pretty unsafe.

The best I've been able to muster from my Titan is 15.8mpg. Kept the shifts under 2000rpm and did not exceed 80mph on the freeways (on the I-15 that's slow).
Only thing with driving like a grampa is it's no fun. When I drive normally (not worrying about gas) I avg 13mpg.
5.6 Liters is the price we pay to kick everyone's @$$

I took my Titan on its first big trip over X-mas. I logged about 1600 miles(800 miles one way) and I got 13.3mpg average on the highway. I did 74mph on I-70 from boarder to boarder in Kansas (Ks trooper are every where and love giving out tickets) and still only got 12-13mpg. I usually get 15mpg going back and forth to work every day(in town miles). I was looking to get aboout 17mpg but I guess that was a pipe dream. The truck did really good on the highway. It was comfy but some of the cement highways seam made my truck bounce big time. I do have the off road package so I guess I can blame that on the stiffer shocks.

Just did a 1600 mile trip. On on fillup - strictly interstate, got 18.16. Mostly 15.5 to 16. I have a 1990 Toyota 4x4 V-6 (the 3VZ) with 166,000 miles. The best it has ever gotten is 18 to 19. It has been a great truck (best I have ever owned) but the Nisan Titan ride is as expected massively better. When I want the big mileage, I jump in my Jetta TDI (diesel). It averages around 47 or so on the road. It's just for a completely different purpose. Now, if only my fuel gauge would work (never has in the 2 months I've had the Titan - but that's another story).

Im finding that my full tank is lasting me allot longer cause its been parked for 3 days now
Truely, dont you all think that if NISSAN could've managed better fuel milage when they designed our trucks that they would have? I do not have any faith in aftermarket gizmos and their claims. We have to face it that we own an american gas hog!
Lets not even mention a conspiracy by the Oil companies.

I really get great gas mileage in my garage. A full tank lasts about a month.
Thank god for company cars. You can use their gas LOL.
