JUST KEEP THE OIL CHANGED !!! plus there is a book in the glove box called THE OWNERS MANUAL READ IT ! I wish women came with one, they would be alot eaiser to understand and most questions can be taken care of!

What is it costing you guys to fill up? I'm thinking of getting a Titan SE this weekend, but I'm concerned about the gas costs. I currently drive a murano and love it. get around 20mpg on the highway and costs about 30 bucks to fill up. Thanks in advance!

$1.80 gallon.
Fill up? About $40 each time.
If you're shopping mpg, take a pass.

Not really shopping mpg, just something to consider I guess. I
love the looks of this truck. Plan on driving one tomorrow.
But $40 for how many miles per tank? If I can go close to 400
miles per tank, it might not be that bad.
But I do drive 32 miles to work and back each day so I think it's a
valid point of concern. Maybe the answer is to get the truck,
then get a new job closer to home? Thanks for the response.

My Titan does well on highway mileage, crappy city mileage, just like any other full size truck. Also higher octane DOES improve mpg, if its in a reasonable price range, like 10-15 cents higher than regular. I just ordered a cyclone to see if it does anything, so when I get it, the outcome will follow. As far as anything else with a Titan, this truck is so damn good on just about every detail. Some minor flaws, but that would go to each person's own opinion. But nothing to keep from getting one. My Titan has been my best purchase since my big screen TV. So, if I'm not with one, I'm with the other.

I've also noticed that after the "breaking in" phase that the MPG has gotten a little bit better.

I'm interested in the source of information that higher octane improves gas mileage - to my knowledge, the only thing higher octane does is give you an earlier flashpoint for your fuel which helps get rid of your knock & ping at higher compression ratios or too far advanced timing. I have tried it myself on different vehicles and have never noticed any difference at all in fuel economy.
Can you point me to a source that I can read this information myself?
