my low tire pressure light comes on after about 50 to 75 miles of highway driving.I have been to 3 dealers for information or help. The first 2 told me the light would haveto be on before they could locate the problem. The last dealer told me there is a sensor in the spare tire. I checked the pressure and it was 4 pounds lower than the other four. I have not been out on the highway since. I think this will intresting because the spare has a regular rubber valve stem.

the spare tire does NOT have a sensor ...

the system will turn on the light if one or more tires are 29psi or below, otherwise the light shouldnt come on, unless there is a problem with the system, your dealer can run a test with the consult II computer, the light does not need to be on for them to run the test

I put new tires on my 04 and the light comes on when driving on the highway too.  I think we just have tempermental pressure checker thingys.  They are sensative like a woman.

the TPS warning light also tells you if theres a problem with the TPS system, kinda like a check engine light, if its is blinking then sumthing is wrong and you need to see your dealer to fix it
