Nissan is giving me the run-around.

Here's the problem:  I go to look over my shoulder before changing lanes and my seat belt locks me into position.

Here's what I've isolated:  Whenever you're decelerating the seat belts lock up. (all of them).

Here's where you come in!  Please help me do some discovery - when you drive your truck, and you're braking fairly heavy, try to move your upper body forward, does it lock up?  If not, brake harder and see if it does.  If it does, brake lighter and see if it does.

The goal here is I'm trying to find out whether ALL Titans are doing this or just some.

PLEASE help me out!  Post back your results and be as specific as you can in the narrative.

it's called a seat belt pre-tensioner.  It's supposed to do that.   Keeps your teeth off the steering wheel.

mine does it ... I know its a pretensioner but they seem to be a little too sensitive. Does make it hard to move to look in your blind spots. Just my 2 cents

ronc09 - thanks, that's my point.  I've never driven a new car where the belts were so sensitive that just wanted to check over my shoulder made them lock up on semi-normal deceleration.

Mine seems to lock up under any type of acceleration (decel, side to side, etc).  Seems to me that is a GOOD thing.

Why are you decelerating when you are changing lanes anyway ?

Hmmmm - could we get the thread back to the issue?

I don't like it that my seat belts lock up just because I look over my shoulder.

Doesn't this bother anyone else?
