Does anyone use synthetic oil in your Titan.  Please post here and share your story.  Do you get better mileage.  More power?

I use Amsoil in mine and really like the results.

Thanks.

I used to put synthetic oil in a Honda that I had. But when my commute got to the point that I was changing my oil every five weeks I switched to standard oil. The only difference in oils that I ever experienced was with the same Honda; I got better gas mileage 37mpg vs. 34mpg with 5w30 (synthetic or conventional didn't seem to matter). With oil prices so high I use whatever I can find on sale as long as it meets the API ratings for my vehicles.

When I dumped the factory fill at 4000 miles and went with syn, I noticed no difference.  When I change the syn. 7500 miles later, with syn again my mileage increased 1.5 mpg.  I don't know if it was the oil, the warmer weather, or the end of winter gas in NJ.  The oil analysis is due any day now.  Will post when I get it.

I would like to see your results from the oil analysis.

I have heard that standard oil should be used until around 10,000 miles while the engine breaks in.  Gas mileage will get a bit better as the engine breaks in.  Dyno tests do show and advantage to synthetic oil and I plan on switching at around 10,000 miles.

Actually, I would change to synthitec oil at the first oil change in my
vehicle. With the superior technology today and the close tolerances
during manufacture, today's engines just don't need the break in period
like they used to need.

Anyway, when you are ready for synthetic, please don't hesitate to call
me and I can save you money one oil. I can also show you how to
make money by recommending Amsoil to your friends.

I do not know how to post my oil analysis, but I can tell you chromium was high at 4 ppm and iron was high at 31 ppm.  These two wear metal come fron the rings/cyl. wall interfaces.  All other reading were normal, and the oil had miles left in it (TBN was 2.9 with 1 being low).
