I don't know how much wire you want to route, but when I installed my CB yesterday, I just piggybacked an accessory outlet fuse (15A). I also noticed that my fuse box has fuses for a bunch of options that my truck doesn't have, if need be, I could use the power from one of those without going through the firewall.

On the passenger side is where the main harness comes through. If you pull the rug and padding back, look up high in the right hand corner. You will see the large rubber boot / grommet of the main harness. Just to the left side of that harness is a small rubber grommet in a hole to the engine compartment. ( It is very hard to see, its up high.)

I took out this grommet inside the passenger compartment, then melted a hole into it with a soldering iron and slipped it over 4awg power wire for my amplifier. Then slid it through the hole and pushed the grommet back in. That 4awg wire used just about all the available space in that hole.

Another good thing about this location is that it comes out by the battery!
