Was getting some new tires put on yesterday, and a punk-a@@ teenager came over running his trap, talking trash about my "RICER" (as he called it). Asked if it was my truck, told him yeah. I asked him if that was his Colorodo SS in the lot. He said yeah and started naming off all of the mods he had done. Dual Exhaust, Hypertech Chip, Airaid Intake w/ K&N airfilter, traction bars, yadda, yadda, yadda. Told me that this weekend he smoked a Mustang GT. And even gave the Mustang a head start. I agreed, listening as he went on bragging.
He then proceeded to ask me what I was doing after I had my tires put on, wondering if I wanted "To Run em"? I don't usually support street racing, but I could resist shutting up the kid. We met and went to an area that had little traffic congestion. Pulled up to the red light and this is the conversation that followed:
Colorodo Kid: "You for sure wanna do this?"
Me: Yeah sure.
CK: "You wanna head start?"
Me: I don't think so.
CK: "What makes you think you can beat me?"
Me: I don't think I can beat you, I know.
CK: "Yeah Whatever."
Anyways light turns green. He lights em up, and gets a jump on me. I ease on the gas a little, start catching up. He gouges it and starts slipping off, getting ahead by a truck length maybe. I decide to "Lay the hammer down" on the gas and blow his doors off, beating him by a good 4 or 5 truck lengths.
He gets behind me flashing his lights wanting me to pull over. So I do, Kid comes over and says, 'Man that thing's fast!!! How much horsepower are you running"? I said "oh around 300hp". Kid says with a questioned look on his face "Is that stock"? I simply told him, "Never underestimate the power of a RICER." and slowly pull away.
