No major tire dealership carries this tire [175/60 R18] in Colorado and is getting shipped to me in 4 days!

Also, this tire has a low pressure indicator light which came on nicely when I ran over a rusty razor blade in the road.... PROBLEM is that you have to go to the dealership and get it reset if the spare or fixed original does not magically communicate with the sensor. Service guy said that the sensor is in the stem.. what a pain that they didn't make a manual reset......

I too punctured a right rear at 700 miles while on a trip through Oklahoma/Arkansas, a tiny nail hole, and by the time I got off the road, the tire was almost flat and ruined.  The AP sensor alarm activated, but I didn't notice it.

Got the spare on OK, but in replacing the spare in Ft Smith, I noticed that at least part of the AP sensor is actually a small rectangular module that is secured to the inside of the rim right next to the stem.  Not sure if some part of the sensor is in the stem or not.  After the dealer installed a takeoff 18" tire, they had to drive the truck to reset the AP sensing system.

And you are correct, neither the Nissan nor the Goodyear dealer stocked the new size.  Price quoted me for the new tire was $162.00 (3-day delivery), so I went with the blackwall takeoff (I think from an XE), same size, just not as pretty!

Wow, can you believe that Nissan and Goodyear don't put out a tire in at least every state!?!   Could you imagine if Ford or Dodge had this problem? I see defect city but the power and beast in the engine keeps me hooked. Seatbelt probs, brake probs, transmissions probs, tire probs.... I am balding thinking about it.

I had a tire blow on me at 700 miles as well. I took me about a week to get a new one.
