Has anybody tried to listen to the aux input from the rear overhead console? Mine does not get into the aux mode from the rear. The dealer said is was not an option on my truck. Yet 800NISSAN1  said it should work.

I had read somewhere within this Audio/Electronics area that you CAN NOT access AUX from the rear for some reason. I did a search and found a couple posts of people asking the same question and saying they were not able to.

Thanks for you input. I'll get i'll have to take it up with Nissan. I wonder why those people in quality controlor product development did not check these options when they built the truck?

Dan

Hey guys,

I need some information. I've read the manual about the rear audio controller, but i still don't understand what it does.  Can anyone explain what use it is.  I have the standard 6 disk audio system (no Rockford).  It appears you can use wireless headphones in the back and control the radio unit from the rear seats???  Can the rear seat passengers listen to something totally different from the front seat seat folks or does it simply turn off the speakers and route music to the headphones??  I need help understanding.  I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Also, can you recommend what type of wireless headphones are compatable?

I agree...I read the manual also and still did not understand. I tried everything out as best I could. First of all, I have the Rockford and the DVD entertainment with wireless headphones plus I also have the XM Radio option.

I made sure I had a CD in the Radio and hit the button for Rear Cont. On. and Headphones. I then went in the back seat and put the headphones on and played around with it. I could listen to the CD while the "main" stereo speakers had the radio going. While the "main" stereo had the CD playing I could listen to AM, FM, XM radio through the headphones....and of course, with a DVD in I could have the movie sound through the headphones while the main stereo played everything else. Other than that, I really haven't ventured into channel changing or  CD track and disc changing from the rear.

I hope this helps somewhat in understanding. I also hope that there is not a difference between yours and the Rockford.

Let me know if you discover anything and I'll keep posting anything that I discover.

Will do.  Can you tell me the make, model, etc. for your wireless headphones?

They came with the truck. I guess part of the DVD Entertainment Package.

All they say is..."Made in China" that is the only marking on the outside of them except for Off-On and Vol

For the head phones I got the Audiovox Brand from circuit city and it works great, except for not being able to listen to the aux from the rear headphones

Dan,

Is the Audiovox brand a wireless unit and do you know the model number and approximate cost?  Sounds like the headset is not the reason you can't listen to AUX from the rear.  My rear audio controller won't allow me to select AUX either.

Chad
