I have the XE model with out the tow package. I've installed a Reese hitch and just installed a plugin wiring harness. After I installed it and tested it out nothing worked. I took my 12 volt tester and tested the factory installed plug behind the bumper that wiring harness hooks to and still no response. Any ideas?

the tsb is a voluntary recall, all it does is change the BCM harness, it just adds 2 fuses...  your lights will still work without getting the new harness, they just put in the fuses for extra saftey

Just bought both relays, installed them, and I'm still having problems, only parking lights are working. I believe my dealership changed out the bcm. Thanks for all the replies, going to trouble shoot some more tomorrow after work. I'll keep you posted.

this might sound like a dumb comment, but im tryin to think of every little problem u may have, are there fuses plugged in where they need to be for the trailer wiring? if so, are they good fuses ( not blown )

I've checked my fuses under the hood all were good and still the same results. I guess its time to take it to the dealer.

I'll keep you posted for future on lookers.

As promised from my last posts. OK ladies and gents (drum roll) it's fixed. Laughing After leaving it with the dealer for a week and a half, giving the dealer some insight, we determined that the factory installed pig tail (Delphi wiring harness) was the problem. I only wish that it didn't take so long and I hope that this saves some frustration for someone else with the same problem.

Here's how it went down. After 5 days they couldn't determine anything, they requested that I bring my trailer with the truck to better trouble shoot the problem, I did. When I got there I showed them that the only thing working was the parking lights which I already knew that from my test light. At first the dealer thought that factory installed pig tail was something that I bought as an aftermarket part because they were getting good signals from the another plug that it plugs into that was under the spare tire. After about two days, I had to go down there and show them that factory installed pig tail was there when I bought the truck that was tucked up underneath behind the bumper on the left hand side. We went to a truck on the lot that didn't have the tow package and I showed them the same factory installed pig tail, if you were watching a cartoon, you would have seem a great big light bulb over the techs head. They put it back on the lift that day and come to find out that some wires were crossed on the factory installed pig tail, that's all the details they would give me, and had it fixed that day. Main point here is that all is good now. I tried to be as detailed as possible for future onlookers and searches. Best of all this taken care of under warranty.

The aftermarket wiring harness I bought that hooked into the factory installed pig tail, you can find it by going to the follwing link. Although I think the auto chain stores and Wal-Mart now sell them, just look for the seven pin hook up for Ford and GM.
