To everyone that plans to use their Titan for actual work and off road use here is a warning.  I bought a 2004 Titan with the off-road package!!!  Great truck but the skid plates do not cover the crank position sensor.  A very important piece of equipmet located at the rear of the tranny underneath and exposed to the elements.  If you look on your truck you will see a small black box at the rear of the tranny, this is it.  If you bump and break this, which I did actually using my truck for work, it completly disables the vehicle.  I feel real bad for the bastard that uses his off-road Titan like they do in the commercial and has to leave the truck in the woods after a stick bumps the sensor and the truck no longer runs.  Nissans position is basically tough, go buy an aftermarket skid plate to cover it!!  Any oppions on this after your own inspections?

Sounds like Nissan customer service. They seem to think that truck owners will take anything they give us and be grateful...wrong. Contact consumer affairs and see what they have to say.
