Look to your far right as your lying on your back. The plug may be on the back side of a large bundle of wires. It was easier to see the white tape holding it in place that it was to actually see the plug. Hope this helps.

I have the 2004 XE and there is not a plug for the harness you buy at the dealship to hook up the controller.  There is however a 4 wire hookup under the plastic cover on the far right side, to the right of the parking brake and near the floor. My brother who is an engineer luckily was helping me.  He found somewhere on the internet which wires are what.  The 4 wired plug does not match the 5 wire harness you buy at the dealer, the difference is the ground wire.  We hooked up the ground wire under the dash.  Took us all day to figure it out and get it done.  Works great. The manual lies to you, saying that you have the wiring to just plug it in.

I found mine, hooked up the e brakes just fine, but i have a 5th wire that i couldn't figure out.  The sticker on the supplied nissan harnes says  Color R/L, and function ILL.  Does anyone know what this means? My brake controller only has 4 wires.  I hate to do a job and have left over parts

I believe that ILL wire is to illuminate the controller is so equipped when the park/headlights are on. If your controller only has four wires....it's not equipped with that option. I have a Prodigy and mine doesn't use the ILL wire either, most don't.
