My wife is 5'3" and about 105 lbs.  When she sits in the passenger seat, the passenger airbag light stays lit, meaning that the airbag is disabled.  It works fine when I am in the passenger seat.

The dealer said that 105 lbs is right on the limit of when the airbag should be disabled, but he didn't have any documentation to that effect.  Basically, he said that there was no action he could take.

Has any one else had this issue?

Thanks

I have the same problem.  My wife is around 120 and sometimes the light would be on with her in the seat.  I talked to my service manager about this and he told me the cutoff was at 120.  120 seems really high for the cutoff for an airbag.

For your wife, he told me that they put a woman in my truck who weighed 105 and the light remained on.

I have a problem beleiving 105 to 120 is the cutoff for the airbag.

My daughter weighs in at 65lbs and the sensor knows she is there and the light goes out.

When I bought mine, the salesman told me 35lbs was when the light was to come on. You might check your owners manuel

Any new info on this?  My wife is 135-140 and sometimes its on, sometimes its off.  Nissan told me the threshold is 60lbs... and that the person in the seat needs to be sitting in the center and square?  So if my wife happens to be putting more weight on one cheek and we get hit, she is sol.  Not sure what steps I need to take to rectify this, so any suggestions are much appreciated!
Thanks!
Ron

A Nissan regional specialist called me after I sent a letter of this problem to only get the same crap the dealer says, if we can't duplicate it, we can't fix it.  I wish I could say that to my customers...
I insisted that wasn't a good enough answer and got no where, so another letter is out tomorrow, I may send it to the stockholders too.  I am not sure what other avenues I have to get this fixed so any and all thoughts are appreciated before I spend more money with my attorney.
Ron

update: took mine at the dealer and they said they had to replace my right passenger seatbelt harness/sensor. The sucky part is, its special order so I have to come back in 3 days......

let me tell you guys, i sure am starting to hate my truck. Just a few weeks before that I had to take it in for "Service Engine Soon" light which they said was just loose grounding.......

now it works. Maybe the sensor on you guys truck is defective after all. You guys should get it changed while your truck is still under warranty. If you have time, just bring it in for whatever reason you may have and they'll do a full diagnostic anyway. Just sucks because there is a $95 charge if whatever the problem on your car is not under warranty.

by the way, when i took mine in, i told them "i never saw the supplement airbag light off ever even though my passenger is well over 150lbs"
